This impressive, magnificent and slightly scary creature made an appearance at last year’s Christmas Fair in Exeter. The sheer size and the deadly looking talons make the reports of eagles like this attacking deer and other species of large animals entirely conceivable. And I have to say it’s fairly unnerving when those eyes bore into yours.

I checked around and it seems to depend on which site you read. According to Wikipedia the largest on record weighed in at 16lbs but I think the bird in the photos was 12, if I remember rightly

Goes, to prove, no matter what that bird weighs, his trainer has a powerful arm. Shucks, the Internet is great. I keep learning all kinds of interesting things. 🙂
