I’ve been challenged by my lovely friend, Michelle at Book Chat to bring back my first blog post.
Here are the rules….
- Copy-paste, link, pingback or whatever way you want to, your first post.
- State what type of post that was. G. Introduction, Story, Poem
- Explain why that was your first post.
- Nominate 5 other bloggers. Five because I know the pain of opening a lot of tabs at once.
I had no intention originally to go live with a blog, it was just a means to keep track of the books/audios I’d read/listened to. But keeping the blog private limited how I could set it out so I bit the bullet and hit the publish button. I had no idea what I was doing but I was sure nobody would be interested anyway. I’m glad to say I was wrong 🙂
I couldn’t believe 1)how much I began to enjoy it and 2)the lovely people I ‘met’ along the way through the wonderful blogging community. And, like Michelle, I’ve learned a lot since that first post (I hope)…which was..
The Lion, The Lamb and The Hunted, a review of an audiobook narrated by (surprise!) Luke Daniels. It’s a psychological thriller written by Andrew E Kaufman and was posted on 22 November 2013.
I assumed I’d be reading or listening to my own choices, it never entered my mind that authors would ask me to review their books, much less send me copies, but what a pleasure it’s been. I’ve found and been introduced to some excellent books which I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise and I love sharing books with like-minded people.
Here are my nominations:
Poetry and Chocolate and Books
It will be great to see everyone’s first post but if you’d rather not take part, that’s fine. And anyone who wants to jump in with their own post, please feel free.
What a great idea – like everyone else reading this (I’m guessing!), I just went and read my first post, and now I shall read yours. Made me laugh that you didn’t realise how much in demand you would be as a book blogger, especially as you take such time over your reviews, and that you would never be stuck for reading matter again!!

I had no idea! Are you going to share your first post?

Gosh you’re brave, my first blog post was unmemorable. Not something I care to revisit. So glad you were brave about going public.

Mine’s not very memorable either, but I don’t suppose many of us knew what we were doing at first and at leat I’ve improved 🙂

I think it’s galling how good your first post is, Cathy. Mine’s downright embarrassing 😀

It’s good of you to say so, but I did cringe when I read it again. And I’m sure yours is not embarrassing!

In my opinion, Cathy, your first post is fabulous. Glad I crossed paths with you along the way and I’m wowed by your reviews. 😀

Only twelve months or so into blogging. Hadn’t a clue what it meant. Learned so much from all of the above bloggers. Thank you all.. By the way, how did you all manage to insert the emoticon thingys?

I had no clue either, we learn from each other which is lovely. About the emoticons..if you go into WP admin/settings/writing and click the box which says convert emoticons under formatting.
