A thousand miles away from Torquay in atmosphere and character yet less than a mile in reality.
The old Forge, mentioned in the Doomsday Book, now a little shop selling horse brasses.
A pretty little cafe…..
..overlooked by a tiny upstairs window
A personalised thatched roof…
A sneaky peek into someone’s beautiful garden
This one speaks for itself!
The gorgeous gardens of the cafe where we had lunch, serenaded by a piano player
TOO wonderful! I adore your pics, Cathy x

Ah, thanks Terry. I’m trying to cram as many visits in the area as I can before we move on. So there will be more to come 🙂

Lovely pictures, Cathy – you have a great eye.
(I love all that thatch, but can’t help thinking about the upkeep!)

What great pictures. It’s pretty much what the rest of the world thinks everything in England (except Big Ben & Buckingham Palace) looks like.

Yes, it probably is and thankfully there are still a lot of places like this.

Thanks, Michelle. You’d certainly have a sense of community in a small village like this one.

The out of the way places tend to be some of the best and the most unspoilt.

Wow! What beautiful photos of such an incredible place, which looks to my Australian eyes like something straight out of a fairy tale or a dream. As I looked at your photos, I just felt like being a snail slowly munching across the leaves and being transported back in time. This is what I love so much about blogging. That wonderful ability to take off and enjoy someone else’s corner of the globe when I’m unable to get there myself xx Rowena
