We were so lucky with the weather, only one cloudy day and no rain!
The first gallery is mostly showing the ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey which is situated in the town of the same name, close to Cardigan, in Pembrokeshire. It dates from around 1115 and initially was home to the prior and twelve monks of the Tironensian order. The dissolution of the abbey is one of the many brought about by Henry VIII.
The few photos of Snowdonia were taken through the windscreen of the car as we drove through – there was a lack of stopping places and those we passed had no views to speak of. So I kept clicking and hoped for the best.
This next set is from Tenby, on the south coast of Pembrokeshire ~ a lovely, quaint town with a stunning beach and a pretty church. From there we visited Saundersfoot, just along the coast, and were amazed at the number of jellyfish washed up on the beach. They weren’t small ones, either!
The final set is from the very pretty and colourful town of Aberaeron on the Ceredigion coast, between Cardigan and Aberystwyth, and the gorgeous sunset as we drove back to the cottage, again taken through the windscreen.

Oh I just love Wales. Thank you so much for these, Cathy! It takes me back to my childhood when we went camping in Wales every year. Tenby was the nearest town to our campsite in Manorbier (we went to the same place every year and travelled out from there). Your photos gave me goose bumps and a lump in my throat.

Ah, thanks Val. I’m so glad you enjoyed them. It’s the first time I’ve been to that area and I loved it. We’re moving to North Wales soon and I’m looking forward to exploring.

Your pictures turned out really well, through the windscreen or not! Those roads are very narrow and winding and full of tourist buses. I lived in North Wales once upon a time long long ago… so beautiful and history and legend everywhere you look.
