  1. So beautiful! The house in the distance, past the rhodies, reminds me of Manderley in “Rebecca.” In the last picture, what are the figures marching along the path? Try as I might, I can’t make them out.

    • I thought at first they must be some sort of small tree or plant covered up for the winter but I’m not sure – they seem to be on the slabs. That part was cordoned off because the garden has sustained some damage from the storms we’ve had and they are doing some restoration work.

      • Ooooh. Now I can see that they’ve got plastic of some sort tied over them. Very interesting. I wonder what lies beneath. They look like ladybugs standing on two feet, viewed from behind. I’m looking at their wings down their backs. (Whatever is underneath the covering, I’m pretty sure it won’t turn out to be ladybugs. 😀 )
        Would love to visit there someday, and not just to see what these turn out to be. Thanks for sharing!
