#FridayBookShare ~ an excellent idea created by Shelley Wilson

With the weekend approaching it’s the perfect time to seek out new books to read, so Shelley created a Friday Book Share game to help search for that ideal read.

FridayBookShare

Anyone can join in. Just answer the following F.R.I.D.A.Y. questions based on the book you’re either currently reading (or listening to, in my case) or have just finished reading. Use the hashtag #FridayBookShare and remember to tag Shelley (@ShelleyWilson72)

Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.

Introduce the main character using only three words.

This week I’m reading Heavenfield, the third in the DCI Ryan series.

First line of the book.

He expelled the damp air in short, panting breaths and the harsh sound of it echoed around the walls of the church.

Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.

The hunter becomes the hunted…

When a man is found dead at the remote church of Heavenfield, DCI Ryan is the only other person for miles around. The police have no weapon, no motive and no other suspects.

Already suspended from Northumbria CID, Ryan must fight to clear his name. But soon, more than his career is at stake when prominent members of the mysterious ‘Circle’ begin to die. Somebody wants Ryan’s name to be next on the coroner’s list and to survive he must unmask the devil who walks among them – before it is too late.

Unfortunately for Ryan, the devil looks just like everybody else…

Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit from LJ Ross, set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.

Introduce the main character using only three words.

DCI Maxwell Ryan ~ strong, intelligent, dishy.

Delightful design (add the cover image of the book).

Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book?)

Anyone who enjoys a good mystery set in spectacular (and real) locations.

Your favourite line/scene.

“Well, what you may not know is that there’s a related legend around Holy Island. Locals believed that when God knocked Satan’s battle axe out of his hand during the battle in Heaven, the axe fell to the Earth where it hit the North sea and became the island of Lindisfarne – Holy Island. If you look at the shape of the island, it looks a bit like an axe.”

Interested, Ryan leaned forward and then winced as pain flashed from the wound at his side.
