#FridayBookShare ~ an excellent idea created by Shelley Wilson

With the weekend approaching it’s the perfect time to seek out new books to read, so Shelley created a Friday Book Share game to help search for that ideal read.

FridayBookShare

Anyone can join in. Just answer the following F.R.I.D.A.Y. questions based on the book you’re either currently reading (or listening to, in my case) or have just finished reading. Use the hashtag #FridayBookShare and remember to tag Shelley (@ShelleyWilson72)

First line of the book.

Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.

Introduce the main character using only three words.

Delightful design (add the cover image of the book).

Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book?)

Your favourite line/scene.

I’m reading Mine by Brett Battles, a science fiction thriller.

First line of the book.

This would be the last summer of Camp Red Hawk.

Recruit fans by adding the book blurb.

Something happened that night in the woods at Camp Red Hawk. But all Joel and Leah can recall is sneaking out for a late hike with five camp friends, and that only the two of them and their friend Mike returned.

They have no memory of what happened to the others. No memory of anything after leaving the camp.

In the years that follow, they realize something has changed inside of them. They are different from others, in ways they never should be. In ways that send their lives down disturbing and terrifying paths.

As they grapple with adulthood, their only hope for understanding why they’ve been altered lies with them finding each other again. But how is that possible when their memories of one another have been erased?

Introduce the main character using only three words.

There are two main characters really but I’ll choose Leah ~ strong, engaging, determined.

Delightful design (add the cover image of the book).

Audience appeal (who would enjoy reading this book?)

Anyone who is into science fiction and/or suspense. The story isn’t really YA although initially it seems as though it could be.

Your favourite line/scene.

Joel thought he could actually feel the pitch black of the corridor pressing in on them.

“Please!” Courtney’s voice was weakening.

“Can you climb down?” Joel called. Even as he said it, he knew it was a crazy question. There were plenty of pipes on both walls, but except for the fixture that anchored Courtney, the ceiling was smooth.

“Help me!”

“The wind has to stop soon!” Leah said. “When it does, we can get you down. Just hang on!”

“I can’t…hold…”

A bang, and then the sound of flapping fabric growing fainter and fainter.
