Little Kitty: The Cat Burglar
By Caterina Longtail
Released: September 5th 2016
Little Kitty wouldn’t exactly call herself a cat burglar. She just likes to bring back the occasional gift for her humans… A lovely story for younger readers and adults alike – perfect for reading together. Beautifully illustrated by Catie Atkinson and designed by Rachel Lawston.
WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE BOOK?
The book was written by a group of authors who donated their time free of charge. Each author wrote a chapter of the book. 100% proceeds of the sale of the book are donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK. The authors are: Suzan Collins, Tottie Limejuice, Jo Wilde, JB Johnston, Lucy Rayner, Ros Lyons, Ann Bowyer and Tracy Terry. Together, they became known as Caterina Longtail! The book was edited by Jaine Keskeys.
This charming little book is a wonderful way to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Such a terribly cruel disease which affects too many families. Little Kitty is a lovely short story, with sweet illustrations, perfect for younger children and for adults to read with them.
Little Kitty likes to bring home the occasional present for her humans and can’t understand when they aren’t thrilled. What’s not to like about a mouse or a sparrow? But when she liberated (Little Kitty won’t use the word ‘stolen’) a piece of still warm roast beef from a neighbour, and her humans go away on holiday her troubles really begin. Mrs Browne is making sure Little Kitty is fed while her humans are away, so there is no-one around to help when someone else decides they want the piece of beef for themselves. Little Kitty finds herself at the mercy of a big black cat. Her adventures are numerous and Little Kitty soon finds herself catching a real thief. A lovely book for a very worthy cause.
A small drawing of a kitten on the top corner of each page appears to be running as the pages of the book are flicked through.

‘Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, but there are other types of dementia too. It is possible to have more than one type of dementia at the same time. Alzheimer’s is sometimes seen with vascular dementia or dementia with Lewy bodies. You might hear this called ‘mixed dementia’. (all info taken from Alzheimer’s Research UK website)
What a beautiful book, and a worthwhile cause. Adding this to my must-buy list. 😊
