Doune Castle was built in the 14th century. It’s a popular location for filming and has featured in Outlander, Game of Thrones and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Terry Jones narrates the audio tour complete with snippets from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Done is one of my favourite castles – I even managed to get my husband to come with me to this one!! Fabulously atmospheric and some wonderful details – like the internal sewage arrangements…

Great pictures of the old castle. The floors look in remarkable condition–obviously not the first. It certainly stirs the imagination doesn’t it!? Internal sanitation? wow–ahead of it’s time.
