When two eligible and attractive men are vying for your heart, it should be the perfect dilemma… Audrey Fox has been dumped by her unreliable fiancé Nick Byrne just days before the wedding. Heartbroken and confused, the last thing she expects when she jumps on a plane to convalesce in Cyprus is romance. But a chance meeting with handsome entrepreneur and father-of-one Daniel Taylor weaves her into a dating game she’s not sure she’s ready for.
Audrey Fox is lost and devastated when her wedding is called off by professional photographer Nick, her fiancé of eight years. It seems he’s not ready for marriage, unable to make the final commitment and wants to carry on as they are.
Audrey’s having none of it—it’s now or never. So there she is, spending what should have been her wedding day in Cyprus, with her parents at their rented villa. It was something she could never have envisaged, and to make matters worse she had the hangover from hell. Things were made even more surreal when a bombshell was dropped into the conversation during dinner.
Audrey has vague recollections of the evening that preceded the hangover—a handsome man, a lost shoe, lots of dancing and drinking…and making a fool of herself. She’s mortified when Daniel, the man who’s lap she fell into, speaks to her as she spends her last day in Cyprus on the beach, telling her he handed her lost shoe to the manager of the restaurant.
I watch as he struts along the beach, taking long smooth strides. I wonder if he’s a professional model, he certainly has the right height and physique for it. Or, perhaps, he’s some kind of ex-athlete. I can just see him on the racetrack in navy shorts and a red, white and blue vest, pounding across the finishing line, his strong arms raised in triumph to the roar of the crowd. Hmmm… I wonder; and just then he looks back and waves. I drop my head quickly, hurrying back to my sun lounger with a small smile on my face. Men. They’re all the bloody same, aren’t they?
What a fabulous cover.

Isn’t it, though! And so relevant to the story.

The lost shoe made me think of Cinderella. Is this a modern version, or is it just coincidence?

No, not a modern version, just a nod in a humorous way really.
