The National Memorial Arboretum is a year round centre of remembrance.
As you might imagine there are hundreds of memorials, all in beautiful grounds and woodland. Here are just a few…
The Armed Forces Memorial is an impressive structure, surrounded by columnular trees.
Many more are dotted around the impressive grounds, including those for the military and the emergency services among others.
Of the three below, the first and third are self explanitory, the centre memorial is dedicated to the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces.

This is something I want to go and see. I visited a couple of friends a few weeks ago and we were looking through their guidebook when then visited. I was surprised by how many memorials there actually are, seems as if no one has been forgotten, which is at it should be.

It’s well worth a visit, Yvonne. We didn’t get to see all the memorials – there are nearly 400 so we’ll probably be making a return visit. I hope you get to go x

There’s always something so moving about war memorials, isn’t there? And sadly we have good reason to have so many of them.
