The cherry tree is almost in full bloom.

The final photos were taken back in 2014 when, commemorating the centenary and paying tribute to British and Commonwealth soldiers killed in the First World War, ceramic poppies were ‘planted’ at the Tower of London, each poppy representing a fallen soldier.

Beautiful florals, Cathy! Amazing to see the poppy display. You’ve captured such gorgeous blossoms of early spring. Nice job on the Painnted on with the bird–I love how that filter works!

The poppies were such a wonderful thing. In a way it’s a pity they couldn’t stay forever, but it probably made it even more special that they were only there for the centenary.

I love all of those photos. So beautiful. I really want to plant a butterfly bush somewhere. I’ve seen dwarf ones that can go in containers.
