A Little Hotel in Cornwall 1 - 8

Over to Laura and her Top Reasons to Binge Read A Little Hotel in Cornwall

Thank you to Cathy for letting me share with her lovely readers about the books in my series A LITTLE HOTEL IN CORNWALL. I’m pretty excited to share that all eight of its novellas are finally available in one handy digital volume. Because, if you’re like me, you probably like to binge your entertainment now and then, and it’s just easier to have a book bundle on hand for those moments, right? And with the series anthology freshly debuted, I thought it might be fitting to share the reasons why readers agree Maisie’s Cornish adventures are definitely best read back to back to….well, you get the idea!

There are twists, turns, and (sometimes) cliffhangers

Do you groan when the words ‘To Be Continued’ pop on the screen? Because Maisie’s world is no stranger to moments that leave the heroine—and the readers—wondering exactly how the latest storyline will be resolved. In that respect, it takes its cues from the old-fashioned serial format, with a bit of telenovela style drama thrown in for good measure. Romantic partings, secret identities, unfortunate misunderstandings—it’s all par for the course in Maisie’s quirky, colorful experience. But, of course, the series’ biggest unanswered question is the true identity of Maisie’s literary hero, a celebrated and reclusive English novelist. It’s a mystery that spawned multiple red herrings and speculations to keep readers guessing from book to book…and fans definitely seemed eager to find out the answer!

The different stories’ events take place close together

Mere weeks pass between each of Maisie’s adventures, it would seem. Her summer arrival is followed by an elaborate All-Hallow’s Eve birthday event, with a traditional Cornish Christmas waiting in the wings for book three. Spring fades into summer and back around to autumn as we near the series’ conclusion, with running jokes, a bit of foreshadowing, and frequent references to previous stories reminding readers just how much has happened in so little time. Especially when it comes to Maisie’s romantic possibilities, being another reason the books are best read close together, as you’ll see below.

The romance is a roller coaster of ups and downs

Not surprisingly, the romance between Maisie and the semi-mysterious Sidney Daniels is fraught with obstacles. From the meet-cute to the ‘will-they-won’t-they’ tension and beyond, readers will find that each new story brings a new angle to the couple’s relationship. If you’re a fan of the slow burn romance, this will be right up your street. If not, you’ll probably appreciate the way the anthology keeps their story flowing, especially when a dramatic turn of events seems to part them just when they were closer than ever to being a couple. And when the secrets of Sidney’s past begin to surface at the end of book seven…well, let’s just say some readers may want to keep the pages turning as quick as they can!

So if you’re a fan of feel-good romance with a bit of drama and a lot of heart, I hope you’ll be sure to check out my Cornish book bundle. And if you’ve already read and enjoyed the books in A LITTLE HOTEL CORNWALL, I’m happy to tell you that Maisie’s adventures are continuing in a brand new series of full-length novels, beginning with The Girl of Lost Petals and Possibilities. It’s available now at major eBook retailers and goes great with a cuppa and a drizzly day!

Thanks so much for this, Laura.
