Welcome to the Sunday Stills feature, hosted by Terri Webster Schrandt. This week’s colour challenge is Ruby Red.
Many moons ago I collected ruby glass, most but not all made it through several house moves, these are a few of the survivors…

Always lots of ruby reds to be found in nature. On the left a geranium bud and an autumn tree on the right

Photinia (Red Robin) leaves after a shower…
A cosmos flower and a lone holly berry…

These are stunning, Cathy!

Gorgeous ruby reds, Cathy! I love your ruby glass collection–quite stunning the way you captured it! Love all the florals, too!

Thanks, Terri 🙂 I had a thing about red glass for a while back then, I still love it but don’t collect anymore.

Hi Cathy – Such a nice shade of red – I love those snapdragons – I used to grow those but had forgotten about them – maybe next summer. They are such pretty flowers!

Hi Barbara, I hadn’t expected the snapgragons to appear again this year, I was under the impression they were annuals but I was very happy to see them.

Mine are long gone, but I’ve done a lot of weeding in the place where they were – probably pulled them out at some point not recognizing them.

Amazing, they are all almost the same shade of red and red is a difficult color to match. I love the red glass. They seem kind of rare. I don’t see much red glass anyway. I used to collect black glass and pink milk glass. I think I have one decorative plate left.

It’s nearly thirty years since I was collecting, some of them were supposed to be antique but who knows. I’ve never seen black glass, that sounds amazing.

I think it’s quite lovely. You only know it’s glass if you hold it up and can see through it a little. Otherwise it can look like porcelain.

I love glass bowls and vases though not a fan of red unless it’s in the garden. Lovely images, Cathy.
