#SundayStills ~ Light and Shade #Photography #Nature

Welcome to the Sunday Stills feature hosted by Terri Webster Shrandt.

SundayStills

The theme this weeking is Seeking the Light.

This was taken on an early morning walk with my dog a few years ago. The moon was setting as I walked down the hill to the coast with the sun just beginning to rise behind me.

The butterfly found an unusual place to warm itself in the sun. I don’t think the starling will find much light there though.

Finding the light through the trees.

I imagine the owners of the narrow boats are hoping the sunlight will be warm enough to melt the iced up canal.

One of the rooms inside Doune Castle in Scotland. The castle is a medieval stronghold near the village of the same name. It has been used several times as film or TV locations, most notably as Castle Leoch for the Outlander series and Monty Python’s Holy Grail.

I really like this effect, the trees look lovely as they catch the sunlight.

  1. You have captured the various ways light falls whether through sunrises, or how it illuminates trees, through windows, and so many others, Cathy. Doune Castle looks amazing (I’ve seen 5 seasons of Outlander). I really like how you caught the moon in the first shot with the rising sun behind you in that image, stunning!

      1. I bogged down in the books and several seasons into the TV episodes as well. Seemed like it reached too far outside the original plot line. Hubby watched cause he liked Claire. I liked Jaime but thought they looked like a mismatch in the TV series.

  2. Beautiful images and I bet those narrow boat owners were wishing for more sunlight especially if they have solar power. Though most have wood burners which would make their toes nice and toasty.
