#SundayStills ~ I’d Rather Be…Beside the Sea #Nature #Landscape #Scenery

Welcome to The Sunday Stills feature hosted by Terri Webster Shrandt.

SundayStills

The prompt this week is where would you rather be? I love being by the sea and these are some of my favourite places.

Northumberland has some of the most beautiful beaches. Below left is Warkworth beach and on the right is Bamburgh beach overlooked by its impressive castle.

Sunset on Llanddwyn Island, off the coast of Anglesey.

Newborough beach on Anglesey

The ruins of Dunstanburgh castle, built in the 14th century and once one of the largest and grandest fortifications in northern England.

And finally, the view some lucky people in Alnmouth have of the tiny tidal island in the bay.

  1. I would love to be beside the sea–in a few days, I will be able to visit Southern California’s beaches. Your pics of these places along the seashore are stunning, Cathy! I can’t even imagine being able to see a huge castle on an island, much less from a beach/seashore view! I appreciate your loyalty to Sunday Stills and the stunning images you show us for the prompts.

  2. Gorgeous pics, Cathy, and makes me miss our outings and trips to the Pacific when we lived in Sacramento (CA). Hubby and his buddy would dive for abalone while we fished from shore (depending on the water). I can remember when the water was so icy cold your feet were throbbing after a few minutes. Our last trip to the coast, we were in with bathing suits and frolicking in the surf. The water can be too warm in the northern coastal waters for some of our favorite seafood (crabs!!).
