#SundayStills ~ The Garden is Coming to Life #Awakening #Nature #Plants

Welcome to the Sunday Stills feature hosted by Terri Webster Schrandt. This week’s prompt is awakening, and thankfully my garden is doing just that after what has felt like a very long sleep.

Lovely new bright red leaves appearing on the Photinia, or Red Robin bush. Buds on the ornamental cherry tree will be open soon with glorious pink blossom.

Lots of flower buds on the Choisya and the Magnolia will soon be in flower.

Leaves are appearing on the Rowan tree and the dwarf Berberis is showing lovely colour.

And finally, lots of new shoots from the Coreopsis, and flowers poking through the Heuchera leaves.

  1. Beautiful photos as always, Cathy, and I’m glad you are seeing such lovely signs of spring. We’ve gone far beyond that here in Florida. It’s heading straight into summer, and we’ve already had some days in the 90s. URK!! This morning is coolish out, though (a mere 78 or so) so Mark can take his 5-mile walk without having heat stroke.

Thanks for sharing your garden pics! 😊❤️

    1. Thanks, Marcia 🙂 I don’t think I’d last long in temps of 90+! I’d probably be able to handle 78 😉 That’s the trouble with such high temps. it does limit what you can do. Hope you have a pleasantly temperate summer 😎💕

      1. Once it gets over 85, I’m pretty much stuck inside. It’s like being snowbound in the winter, except from broiling heat instead of icy snows. We usually start getting triple digits temps in July and August and just walking from my door to the end of our short drive for the mail is almost too much for me. I love a lot of things about central Florida, but wish I could go to the mountains for the summers. 😁
