Love in the Wings

Welcome, Ellie. Tell us a little about your book.

Love in the Wings follows Harriet, a former West End performer who returns to her hometown after a scandal in the capital. She meets Liam, an assistant stage manager on the production she’s working on and tells herself under no circumstance will she let herself fall for him… You’ll have to read the book to see how that goes for her.

What other books have you written?

My first novel was Love and London and I also have a story published in the Twisted Tropes Anthology called Playing For You.

If you could give one tip to an aspiring author, what would it be?

Don’t edit while you’re still writing. Write the first draft before you edit, often I get into a trap when I revisit earlier chapters and then lose my flow so it’s something I always tell aspiring authors.

What was the first romance book you read?

I grew up on rom-coms by Sophie Kinsella and Nicholas Sparks. I adored them although my taste in books has somewhat changed to include the likes of Sarah Morgan, Elle Kennedy, Jaine Diamond and Meghan Quinn.

What book is currently on your bedside table?

My Big Fat Fabulous First Love by Lyndsey Gallagher.

Do you listen to audiobooks? If so, are there any you’d recommend?

I love audio books, Elle Kennedy and Meghan Quinn’s books translate really well into audio.

What is your preferred method to write?

I usually start my stories on Google docs. That way I can flip between my laptop and my phone at any point. When it comes to fleshing it out I move it to Scrivener to better organise the story and follow my outline.

What’s coming next?

I’m starting a football romance series with book 1, Playing For Her coming out on the 1^st September 2023. This is set in the same world as my anthology story from Twisted Tropes.
