..me and the things I love..and general randomness
Reading, of course 😉 and audiobooks. Books have been a constant throughout my life and I love sharing those I’ve enjoyed with others.
I’ve been writing reviews and blogging about those books I’ve enjoyed for a few years now and still find it very satisfying and pleasurable. Apart from anything else, it’s a good way for me to keep track of the books I read and listen to and if it’s helpful and/or enjoyable for others so much the better.
All reviews on the blog are just my personal opinions and thoughts on books I’ve read/listened to, they’re not meant to be professional critiques. I hope you enjoy reading them nevertheless.
I’m also enjoying photography and take my camera wherever I go. My photos are under copyright as my own, any others are taken from resources on the internet.
My photography site can be found here.
I love…..friends
and family…
My dogs, past and present, these are just two of them….
Music, theatre and walks by the sea. I used to live in the south-west of the UK where there are lots of lovely beaches, then relocated to the North Wales coast, and have since moved to Shropshire.
And maybe the odd glass of wine 🙂
I’m on Goodreads, Twitter, and Facebook I’d love to see you there too!

A pleasure to meet you Cathy. We share a passion for books. I grew up across the street from a library and so I developed a life long love affair with books at an early age. I still spend quite a bit of time at the library, which fortunately is within walking distance. Thanks for visiting and following my blog!

I can relate – the library was my second home 🙂 Glad I found you through Hugh’s terrific blog.

Love the name of your blog. It is actually my ‘working title’ of a book I’m working on…
A dear friend once told me what he noticed immediately upon entering a home for the first time, was the book shelves. I knew it was a friendship that would last a lifetime!

No it is not! Funny that my ex-husband hated me reading anything… when I left him I had about 3-4 books in a box. When I moved to France I pared down to 27 boxes of books. Now, I have a respectable library! 😉

I am a blogging friend of author Marcia Meara’s. Rosie said I could reblog/press some of her posts on my blog, Always Write, http://www.marshajustwrites.com. I have been looking for a way to increase the traffic for book reviewers including myself because I noticed that under normal conditions, book reviews do not draw a lot of traffic.
Bam Then I discovered all of you. I’m so impressed with what you are doing as a team. Very cool. I have chosen to reblog your post, Manipulated Lives. It will have links to your blog as well as Rosie’s and I took the liberty to copy and paste part of your About page at the bottom of the post with another link back to your blog. I then will push it out on social media. If you agree to that, it will come out on Dec. 29th. Wth that longish introduction, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and I hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

Hi Marsha 🙂 Thanks very much for your kind words. Feel free to reblog whatever you like. The wider the audience for reviews the better. Great idea! Merry Christmas to you too 🙂

Great, I am thrilled. Pressing is different than reblogging, I found out. Reblog just goes out immediately and only on WordPress.com Pressing can be saved and posted on WordPress.org. It appears as a draft on my WP.com account. My email is tchistorygal@gmail.com if you’d like to see what it will look like. Otherwise, it will come out on the 29th with lots of links to your blog. 🙂 Thanks again. 😀

Great about-page. In my family we read much. Well, what is much, is a definition question. One hour every evening before sleeping. I read quite fast. Well, what is fast in my case? I read about 70 pages in an hour and I read French book, although, I am Finn.
Have a wonderful day!
